Teaching

Boston University

2016–present

Josephine Halvorson is Professor of Art and Chair of the MFA Program in Painting at Boston University’s College of Fine Arts. She teaches seminars and participates in critiques of graduate students’ work through studio visits, group crits, and final reviews. As Chair, she organizes and coordinates the program schedule, leads orientation and admissions, and advises students on their course of study. She serves on a number of committees and, in 2022, delivered the annual University Lecture.

In 2016, Halvorson founded and continues to co-administer the Tuesday Night Lecture Series, a free and public lecture series run by the MFA programs in Painting, Sculpture, Graphic Design, and Print Media and Photography. It has brought dozens of artists to Boston and into the studios of the graduate students.
